Select Committee report welcomed
The Citizenship Foundation has welcomed the report of the Educational and Skills Select Committee on the current state of play in Citizenship Education.
In particular they welcome the call for a coherent, joined-up National Strategy for Citizenship Education addressing primary, secondary, further and adult education.
Tony Breslin, Chief Executive, said:
"The message is getting through that if we want our democracy and our communities to function successfully, we have to ensure that our education system sees education for effective Citizenship as a key priority".

Select Committee inquiry into citizenship education
The Education and Skills Select Committee's Report into Citizenship Education is due to be published on Thursday. It will look at the current state of play and make some recommendations.
The evidence submitted to the inquiry each by the Citizenship Foundation, the Association for Citizenship Teaching (ACT), CSV Education and the National Foundation for Education Research (NFER), is available to read on the Citizenship Foundation's website.
